Heating & Plumbing for North Wales, PA

A small borough with a long history — and the Victorian and Edwardian houses that come with it. Homes that were standing long before anyone had central air need people who take their time.

LOCAL HISTORY

How North Wales Was Built

1850s

The railroad arrives

The North Pennsylvania Railroad reaches the area between 1852 and 1857. The borough is incorporated in 1869.

Late 1800s – early 1900s

Main Street fills in

Most of the homes on either side of Main Street go up — Gothic Revival, Queen Anne and Second Empire houses, many still standing along South Main.

Mid – late 1900s

The edges fill in

Newer homes are built toward the north and south edges of the borough.

1990s

Windsor Hill & the historic district

Windsor Hill adds 32 single-family homes, and around 1999–2000 the borough creates the North Wales Historic Preservation District.

Today

Old houses, modern systems

About 3,400 people on well under a square mile.

GOOD TO KNOW

Your water changes with the seasons

North Wales Water Authority blends soft surface water (about 45–65 mg/L) with much harder well water (170–240 mg/L), and the mix shifts through the year. If scale builds up faster in some months than others, that’s probably why — and it’s worth factoring in before sizing a water heater or a softener.

QUESTIONS

North Wales Questions, Answered

Do you serve North Wales addresses outside the borough?

Many North Wales (19454) mailing addresses are actually in Upper Gwynedd or Montgomery Township rather than the borough itself. We cover all of them.

Is North Wales water hard?

It varies through the year. North Wales Water Authority blends soft surface water from its Forest Park plant with harder groundwater from its wells, and no part of its system runs on groundwater alone.

Do I need approval for work in the historic district?

The North Wales Historic Preservation District is governed by a Historical Architectural Review Board. If your project changes anything on the outside of the house, check with the borough first.

Can you add cooling to an older house without ductwork?

Yes. Ductless mini-split systems cool and heat a house without any ductwork, which suits many of the older homes here. We look at the house first and give you a written estimate before any work starts. If the work changes the outside of a home in the historic district, check with the borough first.

How quickly can you get to North Wales?

North Wales is a short drive from our base in Lansdale. How soon we can be there depends on the day’s schedule, so call (610) 809-6903 and we’ll give you a straight answer on the earliest time. For work that isn’t urgent, you can also book online.

Old House? We’ll Take Our Time.

Call, text or send a message — a local team, a straight answer, and a written estimate before any work starts.
